About Me in College...

8/26/2014
Why did you choose Lycoming College and what were your other choices? What is your major and why did you choose it? What do you hope to accomplish with your degree once you graduate?

1. My college choice was down to two local colleges near Williamsport, Pa. This choice was to remain close to my family, because I like being treated to free meals and receiving frequent care packages.

First was Lock Haven University, which my brother was attending at the time, so that school was in the running. It was also a rather cheap college, so that also made it appealing. The campus was the crappier of the two, but that's what you get for that amount of money.

The second college I was considering was Lycoming College, located in the center of Williamsport. This school had a better reputation than Lock Haven, and was closer to my house. The only problem with choosing Lycoming was that it costs a lot.

Deciding between these became harder when I was accepted into both of them...

The decision became a lot easier when I found that I was being offered about a 90% scholarship from Lycoming, making it way cheaper than Lock Haven.

So basically I made my choice to come to Lycoming because it is cheap for me and close to home.

2. My major is Corporate Communications(Ccom), which does admittedly sound rather formal and lame. I would have chosen Laser Space Defense if it was available. I chose Ccom because it is a major that offers a diverse field of careers that I will eventually be able to choose from. I didn't want to make a mistake like choosing to be an English major, then finding I actually hate the field and then having no way to make money besides manual labor, which is my nemesis. With a degree in Ccom I have the ability to do anything from Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, Consulting, or other things I've failed to remember. These careers all have the positive element of not having to ever break a sweat.

I have found that this major is amazingly simple for me. This acknowledgement has lead me to believe that I have no limits to the level of success I can attain. I have already started my own consulting firm, BartonBusinessBetterment@gmail.com , a service that is and will be offering tips to existing companies on things they're doing wrong, then soliciting money to tell them how to fix those problems.

Once I've graduated, that golden sheet of fancy paper will allow me to be more respected in whatever field I choose, which will in turn allow me to make more money.

That, you will come to find by reading future posts on this blog, is the driving force in my life. I have come to find that love is a lie and faith is a weakness. The only positive of enduring life is to achieve personal satisfaction, my currency of choice is cold hard cash.

Weird? Ill-informed? Misguided? I don't give a damn.

Have a nice day.
