Using Senses at Pennington

FREEWRITING ASSIGNMENT
(Post on your Google Blog)

Describe the place where you are sitting now. Freewrite the details you observe -- and push yourself to observe many details. Describe the people you can see, the architecture and the furnishings. Use your senses. After you've written down what you see, close your eyes and focus on sounds and smells. Now open your eyes and pull the description into an 800-word article. (800 is minimum. You can write more.)

Illustrate the article. Take photos of where you are, who you’re with, what you see. Using a photo-editing software, crop and adjust the photos. Use one large, centered highlight photo, one medium portrait photo and create a landscape photo gallery of all the images .

Pennington lounge is a shared space within Lycoming College's academic center. It is home to Cafe 1812 and is also a popular place for students to study or do homework either alone or with classmates. This post will detail what my senses have noticed while sitting in the absolute center of the room.

Sight:
The lighting is a combination of sunlight filtered through tinted windows and soft artificial lighting from walls and the ceiling. This light illuminates the space's structure and contents.
